We talked to Uttam Basak, the bearer of a life made in a sari knit shop in Tangail. Krishna Gopal (KG): What Is You Name sir? Uttam Basak (UB): My name is Uttam Basak. (KG): How did you get involved with this Business? (UB): I have been associated with this profession till 1999. I inherited this profession by genetically. (KG): What Kind Of Tangail Saree do you make? (UB): We make Tangail cotton saree, pure silk and also half silk saree. (KG): How long does it take to make these saree? (UB): Overall this depend on the saree quality and design how long it take time to make. (KG): How long does it take to make a cotton saree? (UB): There was a time when we used normal tat (Handloom) but nowadays we used digital tat (Power loom). For that reason within a day a share is made. (KG): What is your dream about your profession?
